hey i don't wanna bother you people but in July 2, 2018, under Arts and Culture there is a section labeled crossing the ditch and it says " Scott Donaldson becomes first solo kayaker" and it should say "becomes the first solo kayaker" MadameButterflyKnife (talk) 23:07, 4 July 2018 (UTC)

On the selection of news items reported here
I frequent this page, and have noticed that at least 90% (conservative estimate) of the news items are "negative," and that often a day will have NO "positive" news items listed or perhaps one sports result which could qualify as such. Why and how is this exceptionally biased selection process occurring? How can we improve it?
I am thinking more reporting could be done of charitable donations, scientific publications, etc. If it is "newsworthy" that some terror attack kills 2 people (out of 8 billion) in some local province somewhere, isn't it also newsworthy that an art gallery opens a new exhibition in a local area.
- The general policies apply on this page: see Wikipedia:List of policies and guidelines. Especially the general notability guideline. If a local art gallery exhibition would exceptionally get "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject", then I guess it's OK to include here. White space between boxes is back

- @IJBall: I fixed it. August 13 had a blank line on top and 12 and 11 have a
{{pp-sock}}on top. They're inside a<noinclude>, but they appear to leave a blank line after inclusion. Those seem to create a stray<p><br /></p>above the section. In the future, there should be no newlines at all before{{Current events template. Isa (talk) 03:18, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
